At Umzingeli Safaris, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to discover and experience our beautiful country, even if you are on a tight budget. We believe tourism further aids in our attempt to conserve and protect our natural wildlife populations, not only through hunting but through awareness.
We have teamed up with J9 Adventure Tours to offer you a wide variety of adventures and experiences, whether it is hiking, wine tasting, bird watching or photographic safaris.
As hunters we appreciate not only the hunting of an animal, but we also enjoy the remarkable habitat they live in.
Take a day to experience our wildlife up close, taking nothing but photographs and leaving only footprints. We support local National Parks as well as privately owned game reserves in offering you the following optional extras:
Addo Elephant National Park
We take a day to appreciate the largest land mammals in their natural habitat, along with the rest of the Big 5; Black Rhinoceros, Buffalo, Lion and Leopard. Addo Elephant National Park is a government owned property, conserving indigenous species, and is a haven for bird watchers. Should you want to relax and unwind, Addo is also home to Indlovu Spa (Indlovu means elephant in Xhosa), that offers treatments ranging from massages to pedicures. For treatments booking is essential.
Pumba Game Reserve
Pumba Game Reserve offers a day safari and is an experience not to be missed. The day includes a 2.5 hour guided game drive through the popular game reserve, home to the second known self-sustaining rare White Lion population where you can also expect to see Impala, Giraffe, Elephant, Zebra and Warthog. Your game drive ends with a light lunch and refreshments where you will then be taken to reception and picked up by your guide.
Kwantu Private Game Reserve
Kwantu Private Game Reserve is a Big 5 game reserve and offers a feast for the imagination, with a Halaal & Alcohol free half day safari. This safari comprises of either a morning game drive, from 9-2pm, or an afternoon game drive, from 2-8pm. The 3 hour game drive includes a visit to their predator education centre and has a meal and beverages included.
Schotia Safaris Private Game Reserve
Schotia Safaris offers a unique four hour guided game drive. Welcoming drinks at 14:30 start off an amazing experience, viewing more animals than you thought possible, after which a delicious meal is prepared for you on the fire. After dinner a short night drive completes your experience before you guide will take you back to your lodge.
Sibuya Game Reserve
Sibuya offers a variety of day safaris to choose from that will delight your soul. Their standard day trip is a 6 hour safari and takes you on a leisurely boat cruise from Kenton-on-Sea followed by a 3 hour game drive and a delicious lunch in camp. Their summer full day trip, available from October to April, offers a 9 hour day with a boat trip, guided game drive and lunch. The winter full day trip is available from May to September and offers a shorter version of the summer day trip. A slow cruise back to Kenton-on-Sea as the sunset guides your way is a trademark experience not soon to be forgotten.
Deep Sea Fishing - Port Alfred
Port-Alfred offers some of the best off-shore fishing along the Sunshine Coast. A fully licenced and equipped charter takes you off shore for bottom feeding species such as Cob, Black Steenbras, Copper Steenbras, Red Roman and Sharks. With a minimum fair of 4 hours, you are sure to bring home some of your catch, which we will prepare for you at the lodge. After a generous seafood lunch a relaxing drive to your African home will take you past the infamous Giant Pineapple and neighbouring historical agricultural town of Bathurst.
